Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Typester is designed so that almost nothing about how you play ever leaves your device. This page explains exactly what data exists, where it's stored, and the one outbound network request the app makes on your behalf.
What's stored, and where
Your settings (theme, sound, motion preference, Quick Play duration), your best scores per game mode, and any achievements you've unlocked are stored using your browser's localStorage, scoped to this site's origin. This data:
- never leaves your browser or gets transmitted to any server;
- is not linked to any account, since Typester has no accounts or sign-in;
- persists only on the device and browser you're using, and clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes it completely.
The one network request Typester makes
At the start of each round, Typester requests a fresh set of words from Datamuse (api.datamuse.com), a public word-lookup service. That request contains only a word-length pattern (e.g. "any 6-letter word") - no personal data, cookies, or identifiers of any kind are attached or sent. If that request fails, times out, or you're offline, Typester falls back to a word list bundled with the app itself, so a round can always be played without any network access at all.
What Typester does not do
- No accounts, sign-in, or personal information of any kind is collected.
- No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking scripts of any kind run on this site.
- No cookies are set by this app.
- No data is sold, shared, or used for any purpose beyond running the game you're playing.
Children's privacy
Because Typester collects no personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continued use of Typester after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
